Wonderful natural landscapes, tranquillity, and lots and lots of nature

The Comunità Montana Agordina is an area in the province of Belluno comprising sixteen councils, a vast territory including also Parco delle Dolomiti Bellunesi, the Marmolada glacier and Mount Civetta.

Agordo is the fulcrum of this valley, a town surrounded by the quietness of the mountains, which has become the largest internationally known mountain climbing area mainly thanks to Mount Civetta (the kingdom of the 6° grade) and Mount Agner (whose north face is the highest in the Dolomites at 1600 metres in height).

Among the many cafes and shops in the marvellous Piazza della Libertà, you soon realise that the great services offered are a sign of warm welcoming from Agordo to its citizens and tourists. It is a lively and dynamic town, which among other things is also the hometown of many production activities at a national level such as for example optics and plastic manufacturing, which have greatly contributed to increasing the development of this place. Alleghe is another important centre in the Comunità Agordina, one of the best equipped skiing resorts in the area, with a snowpark and piste for children and disabled people.

A small group of houses surrounds an emerald lake, on the surface of which is reflected the magnificent Civetta. This image of Alleghe recaps without one too many words the peculiar characteristics of the Valle Agordina: wonderful natural landscapes, quietness and lots, lots of nature.
